We currently have a Section C and two Section D Welsh cob mares. Our ranchette is in the Bay Area of Northern California. Some of the reasons we love our Welsh cobs are:
1. Welsh cobs have great personalities
2. Welsh cobs are safer because they are closer to the ground when you fall off
3. Welsh cobs are a greener alternative than horses because
- They require less hay/pasture to maintain their correct weight
- They produce less manure
- They can use a smaller tow vehicle and trailer and less fuel since they are both smaller and weigh less
Our Section C mare is Stonehaven Maid of Magic. She is starting under saddle and we’ll post her progress on our Photo Blog page along with that of our other mares. She likes to learn circus tricks and is particularly fond of getting up on a pedestal. She also likes to throw in a few aires above the ground in from time to time. We hope she will learn to do these on command. We thank Tammy and Debbie of Stonehaven Farms for selling her to us, she is exactly what we were hoping for.
Our first Section D mare is Cobble Hill Jordan who is five years old in 2010. She had been previously started under saddle and so is continuing lightly in dressage and on trail rides. One of our trainers said she has a priceless temperament, uphill comfortable gaits, and if she were taller would be just the kind of horse he’d like. She has a keen sense of humor and particularly likes carrying things around in her mouth. We thank Stephanie for selling her to us.
Our second Section D mare is Dragon’s Lair Lady Lindsay who is 12 years old in 2010. She is the queen of the pasture and both our other girls look up to her. Lady is continuing her dressage career and is a wonderful addition to our ranchette. She has a big engine, yet is steady and reliable, a great combination. We are sooooo glad that Celia Evans sold her to us, she is just the type of cob mare we were looking for.

Our goals with these girls is to enjoy them, show them and perhaps breed them a few times with the object of obtaining performance Welsh cobs with personality, of which they all have plenty.
We also have the two geldings shown below. Although they have their separate field, the girls still try their patience.
